New to Academy Model UN is the World Health Organization, a United Nations agency specializing in global health issues. Established on April 7, 1948, and governed by 193 Member States through the World Health Assembly, the WHO’s main objective is to provide all people with the highest possible level of health. Health is not only the absence of disease but also includes the state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.

WHO’s central task is to approve programs and events, budget for the following two years, as well as decide on major policy questions.
