Topic:  Opium Wars
Opium has been making its way through the social classes of China and making Britain rich throughout the early 1800s. Desperate to stop it, High Commissioner Lin Tse-Hu has been appointed by the Daoguang Emperor to stop the opium trade. Meanwhile, the British have been sending in officials to communicate with the Chinese to continue the trade as it has been a huge boost to their power in East Asia. Unfortunately, tensions have only continued to grow from this order when British official Napier illegally communicated directly to the Viceroy of Canton, prompting the Chinese to issue an edict closing off British trade. Provoked by this new barrier, it has been rumored that British officials are planning a naval attack on Chinese forts in Pearl River.
