Directors of Internal Affairs
Sohan Chakravorty
What’s up! I’m Sohan Chakravorty, and I am delighted to be one of your Directors of Internal Affairs at JAMUN IX. I’m a sophomore in our Academy for Business and Finance, and I’ve been doing Model UN for over a year now. I staffed at JAMUN last year, recently moderated at AMUN, and have been to multiple conferences such as Princeton and Yale. MUN isn’t everything I do though - I love playing sports. I pay soccer and table tennis competitively, and recently I picked up fencing, which is so much fun. In school, I am a part of DECA, and I went to nationals last year. However, even with everything else I do MUN has a special place for me, and it’s truly one of my greatest passions. I won’t bore you with talk about how special and life changing MUN is - I’m sure you’ll get enough of that from the others anyway. Well, I’m so excited to meet all of you, and if you see me in passing feel free to say hi! |
Riyashi Varia
Hello, delegates! My name is Riyashi Varia and I am one of the Directors of Internal Affairs at JAMUN IX. I am a sophomore in the Academy for Engineering and Design Technology. I have been doing Model UN since the beginning of my freshman year, and ever since then, it has constantly proven to be an invaluable and enjoyable experience. It has allowed me to explore my interest in international affairs and policies, as well as form meaningful connections with incredible individuals. I have served as a chair previously at JAMUN VIII and AMUN XXIV and attended many conferences, including Princeton, Yale, and NHSMUN. Apart from Model UN, I am part of other clubs and societies, including the Society of Women Engineers, FTC Titanium Knights (the robotics team), and Project BooksForAll. I am excited to make this year's JAMUN a memorable and enriching opportunity for you all to research, debate, and collaborate! |

Isabella Zelaya Alves
Welcome! My name is Isabella Zelaya Alves and I am excited to be serving as your Co-Director of External Affairs. I am a sophomore in the Academy for Medical Science Technology and joined Model UN at the beginning of my freshman year where I have learned life-long skills, like problem-solving, public speaking, and collaboration, while finding intersections between my passions for public health and women’s rights in international affairs. My favorite part of MUN is how diverse delegates are convened to find solutions to benefit all and develop friendships. I have chaired DISEC at JAMUN VIII and JCC: Honduras at AMUN XXIV. Outside of MUN, I am in many service clubs, like Operation Smile. I love to dance and research. I look forward to meeting you all soon! |
Directors of Operations
Ananaya Jain
Hey delegates! I’m Ananaya Jain, one of your Directors of Operations for JAMUN IX. I’m a sophomore in the Academy of Business and Finance and I’ve been part of Model UN for almost a year. I love MUN as a place where I am able to collaborate, debate, and come up with creative ideas while competing with my friends and other delegates. I’ve competed in conferences and staffed them, experiencing both sides of Model UN. Outside of MUN, I’m part of groups like Model Congress, Future Problem Solvers, and the South Asian Club at school. I enjoy flying drones, playing badminton, and gaming. I am honored to be part of your secretariat and I’m excited to see all of you this year! I hope JAMUN helps you find a passion for Model UN as you move forwards! |
Beatrice Song
Hey delegates! My name is Beatrice Song, and I am delighted to be serving as one of your Directors of Operations for this year’s JAMUN IX! I am a sophomore in the Academy of Visual Arts, where aside from MUN, I like to write for the school newspaper, draw cartoons, and practice calligraphy. Interestingly enough, my first experience with MUN was as a staffer, not as a delegate, for JAMUN VIII. I ended up loving the entire experience, and went on to join the club, attend conferences, and chair at our recent AMUN XXIV. I never would have imagined I would get to serve on the Secretariat, and I am beyond thrilled to be meeting you all in the spring. Just like how JAMUN sparked my MUN journey, I hope it will inspire you all to begin or continue yours as well. |
Dajeong (Dana) Won
Hello delegates! My name is Dana Won and I am honored to be serving as one of your Directors of Operations for JAMUN IX! I am a sophomore in the Academy for Engineering and Design Technology and I joined Model UN around the midst of freshman year, enjoying the journey ever since. I have chaired the AD-HOC committee at AMUN and been to many conferences as a delegate myself. Aside from Model UN, I am part of the Academy Chronicle (our school’s newsletter), the Sustainability Club, and Operation Smile. I am excited to see what this year’s JAMUN will have in store. I hope to see many of you guys there! |
Tony Wang
Yo! My name’s Tony Wang and I’m a sophomore currently studying engineering. More importantly though, I’m one of your Directors of Operations for JAMUN IX! Unlike some of the other secretariat members, I’ve only been part of MUN for less than a year. However, it has been an experience so far, especially traveling to compete in various conferences and staffing at BCA’s high school conference. Outside of MUN, I’m an active member of our school’s class council, serving 2 terms as the class historian. I’m excited to see as many of you guys debate, collaborate, and learn at JAMUN IX as I possibly can! As the secretariat, we’ve all worked so hard in organizing this conference, and we hope that JAMUN IX will be one of the most memorable and insightful opportunities in your life! |
