Crisis: Trojan Wars/Greek MythologyCrisis Director: Liam Carroll Chairs: Ada Alp & Anna Ekmekci Email: adaalp25@bergen.org , annekm26@bergen.org, liacar24@bergen.org Topic: Trojan Wars/Greek Mythology The year is 13th Century BCE, the Aegean Bronze Age, and Paris, son of the Trojan king, has dared to defy the norms of diplomacy and honor, whisking away Helen, the enchanting wife of Menelaus, ruler of Sparta. Trouble is brewing under what seemed to be two civilizations coexisting in peace. King Menelaus and his brother Agamemnon are furious and are on the brink of declaring war on the Trojans. Menelaus calls for the help of a great Greek army with renowned heroes, while the Trojans also start to build up a military force. Delegates must forge alliances in order to negotiate a compromise, or risk inciting war between the two powerful nations of Troy and Greece. Each decision has the potential to alter the course of history, plunging kingdoms into darkness or illuminating a path toward reconciliation. Will delegates rise above their differences, find common ground, and steer the path towards a resolution? Or will they succumb to the sirens of discord, plunging the world into the abyss of all-consuming war? |
