However, in recent weeks, Ferrari is investigating a McLaren engineer, Mike Coughlan, for colluding with Nigel Stepney to give information about Ferrari’s car to the McLaren team, as well as using Mike Coughlan’s wife to photocopy documents. However, all of this is still alleged, and information will change as time goes on. As the McLaren team, the delegates will be trying to prove that these allegations are false and trying to minimize punishment from the FIA. This is extremely important because the McLaren team is currently leading the World Constructors’ Championship 104-76, so the title is neck and neck. As well as this, McLaren needs to make sure to dodge negative media attention, which may hurt revenue and even the car brand attached to the team. |
