Suzu HiraiHello everyone! My name is Suzu Hirai, a sophomore in the Academy for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Administration here at Bergen County Academies. It is an honor and a privilege to serve on the external team for the JAMUN X 2024 conference hosted annually for all middle schoolers interested in this journey. I have been involved in Model UN for countless years, attaining several life skills, whether it range from public speaking or researching skills, I have never looked back on my journey with regret. This journey is one that has opened several doors, introducing me to real time international conflicts, as well as connecting me with the world in a way I could have never imagined. How many of us can say that we have a friend in Singapore? How about Kyrgyzstan? Or perhaps Argentina? Throughout all of these intricacies, I have found a passion within myself for the state of our world, and the power of international relations. The BCA Model UN team is a community of bright minded individuals, all of which are excited to host this JAMUN X conference for you all. Outside of Model UN I am involved in track and field, as well as crosscountry and was a gymnast for several years. I love face-timing my friends, traveling, eating, and I love sleeping. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] with any and all inquiries!

Mia SubrahmanyamHello! My name is Mia Subrahmanyam, a sophomore in BCA's Computer Science Academy, and I'm thrilled to be one of your Directors of External Affairs for JAMUN X. My MUN journey started when I joined my middle school team in 6th grade, and the first conference I attended was actually JAMUN! Since then, and thanks to the guidance of fantastic advisors, I've attended conferences everywhere from Manhattan to Princeton, winning awards and becoming a part of a wonderful community. MUN also sparked my passion for international affairs and global news, and brought me to opportunities such as visiting the actual United Nations and sitting in on a US Senate hearing about global affairs. Outside of MUN, I love dance, listening to music, singing, traveling, and serving on the boards of school clubs from Black and Latine Student Union to PoliSci Club to Key Club. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected]!

Brooke FoleyHello, and welcome to JAMUN X! My name is Brooke Foley, and I am so honored and excited to be one of your Directors of Internal Affairs for JAMUN X. I currently attend BCA as a sophomore in the Computer Science academy, but my Model UN journey began all the way back in freshman year when I first attended my school’s MUN conference and joined the club. Since then, I’ve gained a genuine love and passion for the world of Model United Nations and the wonderful people in its community; thanks to the guidance from my MUN peers, I’ve attended conferences from New York to Yale, won awards, and chaired at two BCA-hosted conferences while gaining an incredible array of experience and unique perspective on the international affairs that make up our world. Outside of MUN, I write, explore hiking trails, listen to music, and serve on the leadership boards of the Women-in-Stem Club as well as the Comm-UNITY Club. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at brofol26@bergen.org!

Directors of Operations
Wilber CallejasHey everyone! I am Wilber Callejas and I am extremely excited to be one of your Directors of Operations this year for JAMUN X. I am a sophomore in the Academy for Medical Science and Technology and my Model UN journey began freshman year when I moderated for BCA's AMUN XXIV. After seeing the delegates work together to solve various world issues, I fell in love with the complex, fast-paced world that is Model UN. This has led me to attend a handful of conferences and become an active member in our school's Model UN community. As for my interests outside of MUN, I like to play the piano and clarinet, bake pastries, study history, and conduct agriculture research at our school's greenhouse! You can contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Michael HaskellHi MUNers! I am Michael, a 10th grader at the Academy for Business and Finance here at BCA. As a Director of Operations, it is one of my jobs to make this JMUN the best it has ever been! When I first participated in MUN during freshman year, I expected to see a community that looked to solve world issues by (in my case occasionally) speaking at a podium. Over a year (and many MUN competitions) later, I have come to see it as not just a place for scholarly debate about world issues, but also a place of learning and friendship. Outside of MUN, I participate in DECA and everything else that life as a BCA student brings. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Kiki Perez GrovasHi everyone! My name is Kiki Perez Grovas and I am a sophomore at BCA in AAST, and I am so excited to serve as one of your directors of operations for JAMUN X! I started doing Model UN as an 8th grader, and my very first conference was JAMUN. After coming to BCA, I joined the club and have traveled to College and high school conferences like YMUN, which have been some of the most memorable moments of high school so far for me. I am specifically a crisis delegate, and apart from having fun with totally wild topics and committees, I have been able to grow my public speaking and teamwork skills which I can say I use in my everyday life now. Outside of Model UN, I like to listen to music and watch TV as well as dedicate time to some extracurricular activities like BCA’s Black and Latin Student Union and our GSA! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at any time at [email protected]
