Exploring safely in a sustainable manner protects not only our planet, but also furthers our knowledge of the universe for future projects. With several private enterprises also beginning their own space exploration endeavors, the negative contributions of space exploration to climate change is growing exponentially. Therefore, it is crucial to balance social and astronomical developments with sustainable strategies to reduce the carbon footprint left by space launches. Moreover, to ensure that space can continue to be safely explored by future generations, sustainable methods need to be developed to ensure the safety and health regarding human spaceflight. For instance, space exploration exposes humans to radiation, altered gravity, and foreign environments which may lead to a variety of unwanted side effects. In this committee, delegates representing different countries must collaborate to create a sustainable plan as well as consider technologically advanced ways to achieve safe space exploration. |
